Francis P. King Sr.

March 4, 1923 — July 12, 2006

Francis P. King Sr., 83, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at O?Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens. He was born March 4, 1923 in Athens Co., son of the late John and Katherine King. Francis was married to the late Margaret Jean McCoy King.

He retired from Carborundum in Logan where he was a press operator and he was in the Merchant Marines. Francis was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3 Star Senior Citizens Center and Murray City Senior Citizens.

He is survived by two sons, Pat Cindy King of Nelsonville and Mike Connie King of Pataskala; one daughter Mary Ann Brian Hardin of Whitehall; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother Walter King of Michigan; sister-in-law Helen King of Glouster and special friend Jackie Hatfield of Nelsonville.

In addition to his parents and wife, Francis was preceded in death by three sisters, Ellen Shafer, Betty Demp, and Mary Burdette and three brothers John, Joe, and Leo King.

Funeral liturgy with mass will be held 10 AM Saturday, July 15, 2006, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 31 Republic Ave., Glouster, with Father John Mucha officiating. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home 30 Main St., Glouster, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
