Thelma Viola Howard, 93, of Nelsonville, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006 at her residence. She was born April 17th, 1913 in Caretta, West Virginia, daughter of the late Charles and Sally Lambert Elswick. She was married to Rex Howard who passed away in 1976.

Viola was a homemaker all of her life, and was a member of the Baptist Church.

She is survived one daughter, Betty Roscoe Napier Jr., of Nelsonville, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, Viola is preceded in death by one son, Rex Howard Jr., a grandson, Jody S. Dye, and nine brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that contributions be made in Viola?s name to your favorite church or charity.

Graveside Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 1P.M. at Highland Memory Gardens located in Chapmanville, West Virginia with Richard C. Dye officiating. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 6-8 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville.
