John L. Gafke, 78, of Logan, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born June 2, 1928 in Basco, Wisconsin, son of the late John W. and Helen Beckner Gafke. John was married to Patricia Mullen Gafke who survives.
He was a real estate broker and worked with Otto A. Shaw and Company Inc. for 44 years, and a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. John was formerly on the Civil Service Commission, both the National and Ohio Association of Realtors, and an avid fisherman who loved to spend time with his family.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by three daughters, BetsyGeorge Hudak of Marysville, Jane Mike Falk of Powell, and Susan Tom Jacoby of Powell; six grand children, Philip and John Van Eman, Sean and Lauren Falk,
and Amelia and Rachel Jacoby and two sisters Joyce Noble of Paris, France and Pat Breuer of Greenville, Delaware.
Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Wednesday, at the Trinity Lutheran Church 430 N. Mulberry St., Logan, with Pastor John Vavrock officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge. Friends may call at
the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Contributions may be made to the John L. Gafke Memorial Fund at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 430 N. Mulberry St., Logan, Ohio 43138.
