Avas Colleen Hunter

Avas Colleen Hunter, 83, of London, formerly of New Straitsville, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006 at Madison County Hospital, London. She was born July 11, 1923 in Gore, daughter of the late Frank and Gale Summers Starr. Avas was the widow of the late Chester Pearl Hunter.

She is survived by four sons, Roy Allen Susan Hunter of Apple River, Illinois, Terry Lee Connie Hunter of Logan, Jim Diane Hunter of Logan, and Kevin Elise Hunter of Columbus; three daughters, Cam Richard McPeck of Zanesville, Gale Jim Hanna of Mt. Sterling and Anita Forrest McCabe of New Lexington; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; six brothers, Neal, Clell, Terry, and Johnnie Starr all of Toronto, Ohio, Lynn Starr of Stratton and Max Starr of Jamestown, New York and three sisters, Madeline Dodds and Marilyn Crawford both of Toronto, Ohio and Rosalie West of Elyria.

In addition to her husband and parents, Avas is preceded in death by her daughter Rita Sue Hughes.

Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan. Interment will be in New Straitsville Cemetery, New Straitsville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 P.M. until the time of the service.
