Robert Dean Rogers

Robert Dean ?Bob? Rogers, 81, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, August 21, 2006 at his residence. He was born January 8, 1925 in Canton, Ohio son of the late Harold T. and Almeda Pearl Armstrong Rogers. He was the widow of Elaine Marie Young Rogers who passed away June 24, 1990.

He was owner and operator of R.D. Rogers Jeweler in Nelsonville for 35 years. A U.S. Navy veteran, serving in both World War II and Korea, he was a member of the American Legion, Church of the Epiphany and a member of the Hocking Hills Country Club.

Bob is survived by a daughter, Janet Marie Rogers of Glen Burnie, MD; two grandchildren, Jodi Roger Kerns and Michael Wells both of Belpre.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Wells Baughman.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Friday, August 25, 2006 at the Church of the Epiphany, 193 Jefferson St., Nelsonville with Rev. Katharin Foster officiating. Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Pomeroy. Friends may call at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville on Thursday from 6-8 PM and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
