Shirley A. Smith Theisen Gibeaut, 74, of Canton , formerly of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Massillon Community Hospital, Massillon following a brief illness, surrounded by her family and beloved husband. She was born August 14, 1932 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Frank and Clarrissa Nutter Smith. She was married to Charles Gibeaut of Canton, who survives.

Shirley was a 1949 graduate of Jacksonville-Trimble High School and was a member of the First Christian Church and Harmony Class of Nelsonville. She was formerly employed at McBees and the Hocking College restaurant. Shirley enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by two sons, Frank Cheryl Theisen of Glouster and Randy Cindy Mathena-Glenn Theisen of Logan; two daughters, Jennifer Theisen-Smith of Nelsonville and Brenda Doug Daniluk of Canton; a stepson, Rick Penny Gibeaut of Athens; three stepdaughters, Twila Michael Salajcik of Middleburg Heights, Dixie Manns of Athens and Vickie Stalder of New Lexington; grandchildren, Heather Smith of Buchtel, Ronnie Smith of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Jared and Jordan Theisen of The Plains, Jakob Koprivec of Canton and Laura, Michael and Istvan Salajcik all of Middleburg Heights; great grandchildren, Christian Smith and Brooklynn Escalier and a special cousin, Harold Jeffries of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, several aunts, uncles, grandparents and her daughter Jennifer?s fiancé, Jeff Cullison.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Gouster Cemetery with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville.

Shirley will be sadly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
