Betty J. Bash

Betty J. Bash, 84, of Lancaster formerly of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. She was born June 7, 1922 in Nelsonville, daughter of the late John and Mary Gilbert Parry. Betty is the widow of Ledgie Sagraves, who passed away in 1970 and Richard Bash who passed away in 1991.

She graduated from Nelsonville High School in 1941 and is a longtime member of the Nelsonville VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Betty is survived by special niece, Beverly Steve Lynn of Lancaster with whom she made her home; nieces and nephews, Jon Maryann Bailey of Wooster, Gary Donna Covert of Rockbridge, Steve Judy Tignor of Buford, GA, Cathy Dan Druzbacky of Huber Heights, David Tignor of Sarasota, FL; twelve great nieces and nephews; nine great-great nieces and nephews and a stepdaughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ledgie Sagraves; second husband, Richard Bash; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Lee Bailey, Bessie, Orin Covert, and Thelma and Donald Tignor; four infant sisters and one stepson.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, with Steve McGuire officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
