Jean Ann Mccombs

Jean Ann McCombs, 70, of Buchtel, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Doctors Hospital West, Columbus. She was born April 14, 1936 in Buchtel, the daughter of the late Virginia K. McDonald. She was married to the late James McCombs, who passed away April 22, 2003.

Jean Ann graduated from Buchtel High School, was employed by Ogg Wholesale for over 40 years and Blackburn Home Furnishings for 8 years. She was formerly the only female Mayor of Buchtel and was co-manager of Jim and Steve?s and Jim Super Stop. She was a member of St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church, Buchtel.

She is survived by a son, Steve and Tiffany McCombs of Nelsonville; a daughter, Susan McCombs and Linda Holley of Pomeroy; grandchildren, Isaiah and Ethan McCombs of Nelsonville, Stacy McCombs and Josh Henthorn of Lancaster, and Brandy McCombs of Ft. Myers, Florida and a brother, Lawrence and Donna McDonald of Nelsonville.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jean Ann was preceded in death by a son, Michael McCombs

A Funeral Liturgy with mass will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church, Buchtel with Father John Mucha officiating. Interment will be in Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel. Friends and family may call at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where a Wake service will be conducted at 7:30 PM.
