Margaret Marie Evans

Margaret Evans, 83, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains. She was born November 25, 1923 in Hocking County, the daughter of the late Louis Oakley and Clarsey Sowers Drescher. She was the widow of the late Dwight ?Gene? Evans.

Margaret was an avid bingo player and was formerly an active member and former president of the Nelsonville-York Band Boosters. She was always a devoted wife and mother who took great interest in her children?s activities.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Morrison of The Plains and Gloria ?Sis? Doug Dawson of Dublin; grandchildren, Amy Lee Hawks of Lancaster, Joshua Morrison of The Plains, Anna and Olivia Dawson; great granddaughters, Allyson Scurlock and Ashlee Hawks; a brother, Jack Drescher of Washinton; a sister, Phylis Arnold of Nelsonville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by an infant son; a sister, Barbara Broad and four brothers, Bob, Billy, Gerald and Ivan Drescher.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Ernie Perkins officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Monday and from 1 PM until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
