James A. Klinger

June 29, 1923 — January 15, 2007

James A. Klinger, 83, of Logan, passed away Monday, January 15, 2007 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan. He was born June 29, 1923 in Hocking Co., son of the late Elmer and Birdie Mae Rodgers Klinger. James was the widow of Thelma Jackson Klinger.

He retired from ODOT and was a member of the Union United Methodist Church and the Hocking Grange. James was a WWII Army Veteran.

James is survived by two sons, Randy Klinger of Columbus and Richard Linda Klinger of Lancaster; one daughter, Sharon Michel of Logan; six grandchildren, Troy Youmi Michel, Amber Rick Miller Klinger, Jolyne Brian Thompson, Dustin Klinger, Shad Griffin, and Danielle Kim Klinger; nine great grandchildren and two sisters, Clarabelle Klinger of Centerville, Maryland and Florence Scott of Okeechobee, Florida.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death they two brothers, Everett and Robert Klinger and one sister, Bessie Disbennett.

Funeral services will be held 11A.M. Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Cardaras Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Michael Martin officiating. Entombment will be in New Fairview Mausoleum, Rockbridge. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of James A. Klinger be made to Union United Methodist Church, 29016 Starr Route Rd., Logan, OH 43138.
