Arietta Conger Martin

Arietta Conger Martin, 85, of New Straitsville, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Sunbridge Nursing Home in New Lexington. She was born May 10, 1921 in Wellston, Ohio, daughter of the late Fred and Eva McMillen Conger. Arietta is the widow of the late Lawrence Martin who passed away in 1977.

She retired in 1998 as a care giver for over 20 years and was a 46 year member of the United Pentecostal Church in New Straitsville.

Arietta is survived by two nieces, Dianne Campbell of New Straitsville and Deborah Krug of Menton, Ohio; one nephew, John W. Conger of Painsville; special friend and care giver, Thelma Mauro of Shawnee; a very close friend, Emilou Bevard of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wanda Martin of Logan and sister-in-law Alice Martin of New Straitsville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Jackie Martin; four sisters, Daisy Conger Campbell, Barbara Conger and two infant sisters and one brother, John Conger.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the United Pentecostal Church in New Straitsville with Rev. Stanley Wilt officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Arietta Conger Martin to the United Pentecostal Church, P.O. Box 98, New Straitsville, OH 43766.
