Gerald H. Blair

Gerald H. ?Burley? Blair, 79, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, February 12, 2007 at his sisters? residence. He was born January 13, 1928 in Nelsonville, son of the late Burley and Thelma Tittle Blair. Gerald is the widow of the late Edna Burke Blair who he was married to for 56 years.

He retired from Kroger after 38 years where he was a produce manager, graduated from Nelsonville High School in 1945, is a member of the Nelsonville Elks Lodge #543 and a life member of the VFW Post 3467. He was an Army Veteran where he served in occupied Japan.

Gerald is survived by a sister, Marjorie Tom Riley of Nelsonville; two brothers, Richard Blair of Naples, Florida and Bill Patsy Blair of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren, Brittni Blair of Carbon Hill, Brea Blair of Mcarthur; Mike, Rick, and Mark Blair all of Orlando, Florida; five great grandchildren, Garrett, Lakyn, Matthew, Victoria and Orion Blair; several nieces and nephews; special nieces, Lori Pierce and Marjorie Steve Mowery both of Nelsonville and special friends, Craig Dunkle, Bill Forbes and Anita Mondo.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Kelly Blair, grandson, Scott Blair, brother, Robert Blair and grandparents, Richard and Molly Tittle, who raised him.

A memorial service will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Ernie Perkins officiating. Inurnment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville where military graveside services will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 P.M. with an Elks service being conducted at 7:30.
