Marcella Jane Dorst

Marcella Jane Dorst, 82, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. She was born February 3, 1925 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Ripley M. and Maude May Stage Gillilan. She was the widow of the late Charles Dorst.

She was retired from the former Sylvania Plant in Bessemer and worked at the Mine Tavern until she turned 50 and devoted her time to taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Janie Sue Spring of Logan; grandchildren, Barb, Donnie, Angie, Randy, Cara and Michael; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marcella was the tenth of eleven children. She was loved by all in her large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sharon K. Bowers and her ten brothers and sisters.

A Funeral service will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor David Cogar officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends and family may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
