Edward M. Brown, 77, of Londonderry, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 at his residence. He was born February 8, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Harry L. and Viola M. Evans Brown. Edward was married for 53 years to Joanne McWhorter Brown, who survives.
He was a US Army 82nd Airborne Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a former Building Maintenance Supervisor for the State of Ohio, and a former manager for the Tuller Fruit Farm. Edward was also a member of the Kingston Community Church.
In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by one son, Matthew Deborah Brown of Londonderry; two daughters, Rebecca Greg Gilkerson of Columbus and Lisa Kent Myers of St. Paris Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, Melissa Josh Harper, Nick Brown, Amanda Lewis Atwood, Jeff, Mark, Rose and Nathan Brown, Dustin Rachel Holzbacher, Greg Marcelle Gilkerson II, Chris Shannon Gilkerson, Tammie Zach Bobst, and Zane and Luke Myers; twelve great grandchildren and two sisters, Wilma Miller of Hilliard and Lois Wright of Hilliard.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlisa Jo Brown; three brothers, Leo, Carl and Eugene Brown and two sisters, Wanda Dilbeck and Marguerite Lowe.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Kingston Community Church, 11 Warren Dr., Kingston, OH 45644 with Pastor John Nunley officiating. Interment will be in Londonderry Cemetery, Londonderry with military graveside services being conducted by the Vinton County VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur on Friday from 5-8 P.M. and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the services.
