Robert Fred Richards Sr.

Robert Fred Richards Sr., 74, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Twin Maples Nursing Home in McArthur. He was born January 29, 1933 in South Charleston, West Virginia, son of the late Carl and Verna Hill Richards. Bob was married to Mary Simmons Richards, who survives, for 53 years.

He retired from Chrysler Corporation in Trenton, Michigan and attended Zaleski Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two sons, Robert F. Richards Jr., of Union Furnace and Larry Sandra Richards of McArthur; three daughters, Teresa Carl Ashmore of McArthur, Dawn Thompson of McArthur and Beverly Johnny Wilder of Franklin; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Richards of North Carolina and Charles Richards of West Virginia and two sisters, Ann Perry of Newark and Euna Mae Eaton of Malta.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Debra McManis and three grandsons.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Rev. Ferrell Rood officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 P.M.
