Reverend Robert Harold McManaway, 83, of Logan, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007 at his residence. He was born May 8, 1924 in Athens County, son of the late Edward McManaway and Goldie Milliron McManaway Russell.

He retired from North American Aviation where he was an electrical engineer and was an Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Robert was Past Master of Mingo Lodge #171, a member of York Rite Masons, 32nd Degree Scottish-Rite Valley of Columbus, a Charter member of Hocking Hills Shrine Club, Aladdin Shrine Temple of Columbus and the Venus Chapter #76, OES. He was the former Pastor at several churches including Ebenezer and Locust Grove Churches and was a member of the Hocking Hills Fish and Game Club and the Ham Radio Club. He was an avid golfer, craftsman, and gardener and enjoyed playing the guitar, organ, piano, saxophone and dulcimer.

Robert was survived by three grandchildren, Brian Larissa McManaway, Melodee Hawk and Tiffany McManaway; five great grandchildren, Keith, Zachary, Jacob, Jordan and Malik; daughter-in-law Sharon McManaway of Logan; nieces, Rita Noble and Ginny Hamilton both of Logan; special friends, Karl, Mary and Megan Grant and the Charles Turner family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Robert E. and Jimmy McManaway and two sisters, Hilda McManaway and Betty Seymour.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second, St., Logan with Rev. Jim Mathias officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M.
