Eleanor Mae Sayre

Eleanor Mae Sayre, 82, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville. She was born September 24, 1924 in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late Pearl and Pearly Misner Keiffer. She was the widow of the late Thomas Sayre.

Mae retired from Rocky Shoes and Boots after 25 years service. She was a 1943 graduate of Buchtel High School and a member of the Nelsonville First United Methodist Church. She loved crocheting, collecting dolls and especially spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Gayle Steve Davis of Nelsonville; two granddaughters, Kacie Christopher Schultz and Kari Troy Oliver both of Nelsonville; three great grandchildren, Ethan and Addilyn Oliver and Hailie Schultz; her twin sister Helen Faye Blair of Logan and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Steven Sayre; brothers, Robert, Foster, Roy, Ray, Wayne and Ralph Keiffer and sisters, Violet Keiffer, Marie Auflick, Forrest Grafton and Gay North

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Stacy Evans officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 3-8 PM at the funeral home.
