Steven J. Stites

Steven J. Stites, 57, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at his residence. He was born February 10, 1950 in Mesa, Arizona, son of Ida Mallett Stites of Salem, Oregon and the late Paul Stites.

He was a mechanic, a Vietnam Navy Veteran, life member of the Amvets and members of the VFW and the Eagles.

In addition to his mother, Steven is survived by five daughters, April McGrath of Salem Oregon, Angela Stites of McArthur, Katie Tony Barnett of McArthur, Jamie and Stephanie Stites both of Grove City; nine grandchildren and five sisters, Patty Jess Ridgley of Bend Oregon, Brenda Stites of Bend Oregon, Regina Stites of Stewart, Ohio, Cheryl Stites of Salem, Oregon and Becky Stites of McArthur.

He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Doug and Paul Stites and one sister, Geraldine Stites.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Father Don Maroon officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery in Salem, Oregon. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. with a VFW service being conducted at 7:30 P.M.
