Myrtle G. ?Mom? Richards, 95, of Logan, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 in Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. She was born January 8, 1912 in Grayson, Kentucky, daughter of the late John and Matilda Ellen Boggs Grizzell. Myrtle was the widow of the late Robert M Richards who passed away in 1993. They were married for 50 years.
She was a member of the Kline Memorial United Methodist Church in Enterprise and an art educator having taught in the Ashland and Grayson area. She was a homemaker, baker, and a loving mother and doting grandmother. Her greatest joy was her faith in the Lord and her admiration and affection for all children.
Myrlte is survived by one son, Robert A. Richards of Logan; two daughters, Myrtle Neil Caughenbaugh of Logan and Diana Dan Swartz of Jackson; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; special friends, Mike and Renee Williams of Logan; caregivers, Cheryl and Denny Barlow of Rockbridge and her beagle Pokey.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; five sisters; one son, Sterling Edward Chris Criswell; two daughters, Helen Boyle and Janet Martin; granddaughter, Pamela Lynch and son-in-law, Leo Boyle.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Brian Arnold officiating. Entombment will be in New Fairview Mausoleum, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and on Saturday one hour prior to the services.
