Spencer P. Roberts

Spencer P. Roberts, 33, of Athens, left this world for the next, Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at his residence. He was born October 4, 1973 in Dayton, son of Bobbi Roberts Orv Lyons of Buchtel and the late H.G. Griffin.

Spencer enjoyed many things. He was a chef and a carpenter. He loved scuba diving, the ocean, cooking and most of all Ohio State Football and a good party.

He is survived by his parents, Bobbi and Orville Lyons of Buchtel; a sister, Courtney Alvis of Lancaster; a brother, Harley Griffin of Lake Brownwood, TX; a nephew, Uriah Alvis, grandmothers, Wilma Hughes of Heath and Betty Lyons of Nelsonville; grandfather, John Helen Roberts of Zephyr Hills, FL; best friends, Michael Olbers, Stan Vitchner, Josh Pidcock and Adam Weiner; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandfather, Robert Hughes; grandparents, Patricia and Charlie Hicks and a niece, MaKell Jade Alvis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Friends may call Friday from 3-8 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.
