Betty Lou Sisson Oskey, 79, of Newark, formerly of Glouster, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Arlington Nursing Home, Newark. She was born July 7, 1928 in Athens County, daughter of the late Arthur and Cora Mae Knight Sisson. Betty was the widow of the late Leo P. Oskey.
Betty was a former homemaker who volunteered at the Glouster Community Center and for the American Red Cross.
She is survived by a son, Leonard H. ?Bud? Cindy McManaway II of Newark; two daughters, Kathy Randy Houston of Newark and Brenda Kent Kerr III of Columbus; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Anne Boyce of Marengo, Delina James Russell of Arizona, Barbara McManaway of Glouster and Patricia Rogers of Glouster and many nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by brothers, Dwight, Tom and William Sisson; sisters, Donna Crass and Jean McKee; and twin siblings, Jerry and Janet Sisson.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster with Rev. Jason Everidge officiating. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice Service of Licking County, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, Ohio 43055.
