Helen M. Chesser

Helen M. Chesser, 93, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born December 25, 1913 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Thomas and Freda Bennett Mills. She was the widow of the late Kelsie Dale Chesser.

She was formerly employed in the dietary department of Mt. St. Mary?s Hospital, Nelsonville.

She is survived by a daughter, Kay Richard Luck of Lancaster; two sons, Gary Mae Chesser of Nelsonville, Bill Betty Jo Chesser of Sugar Grove; five grandchildren, Matt Sandy Luck of Lancaster, Gary Lori Chesser of Pataskala, Kathy David Columbo of Bexley, Jill Lynn Lanning of Pataskala and Lori Larry Willoughby of Heath; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Kathyrn Lanning of Nelsonville; sister-in-law, Thelma Mills of The Plains and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Tom, Ed and Sam ?Art? Mills and sisters, Mary Sadler and Frances Thompson.

The Chesser family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the employees on the Sheridan wing at Crestview Manor for the loving care of their mother during her stay.

A Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, St. Rt. 278, Hocking County. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
