Alta Elizabeth Wirick

Alta Elizabeth ?Betty? Wirick, 74, of Nelsonville, died peacefully, Monday, July 30, 2007 at her home, following an extended illness, surrounded by family. She was born May 5, 1933 in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel Hanning Kennedy. She was the widow of the late Ronald Eugene Wirick.

She was employed at Trace?s Dairy Bar in Glouster for many years. She was a member of the Galion Women of the Moose #177 and she attended services and played piano at the Connett and Millfield Methodist churches.

She is survived by sons, Rodney Linda Wirick of Wayne WVa. and Shawn Tracy Wirick of Albany; daughters, Deborah Don Ritter of Galion, Christina Tim McWilliams of Carbon Hill, Amy Joe Wirick of Carbon Hill and Laurie Robert Davis of Buchtel; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sisters, Ruthie Starrett and Doris Larry Young both of Galion, special companion, Girlie and special friend, Rachel Nichols.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Ronald Eugene Wirick, Jr., Michael Eugene Wirick and Jason Alan Wirick; grandson, Brian Scott Keiffer; sisters, Gracie Reindl Tinch and Diane McIntire.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
