William E. ?Red? Traugh, 85, of Nelsonville, passed away, Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Arcadia Acres Nursing Home, Logan. He was born August 5, 1922 in Athens County, son of the late Eugene and Ella Hartman Traugh. He was married to the late Christine Barnhart Carpenter Traugh, for 50 years.

He was retired from William Brooks Shoe Company and was also employed at Hocking College after his retirement. Red was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Nelsonville VFW Post 3467.

He is survived by a son, Jeff Betty Traugh of Carbon Hill; daughters, Donna Jean Simmons of Westerville and Shelly Mike Otto of Orlando, FL; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and special friends.

In addition to his parents and wife; three brothers, Carl, Ralph, and Art; sisters, Freda, Helen and Margaret; two sons-in-law, Don and Mike; three grandsons, Clay, Tracy and Brian and a great grandson, Geoff

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville where a military graveside service will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
