Joan Williams, 78, of McArthur, passed away Friday, August 31, 2007 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. She was born July 4, 1929 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Joseph and Cathryn Schall Bighouse. Joan was married to John E. Williams, who survives.
She retired as a Brown Township Trustee and was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Zaleski.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by one son, Michael Renee Williams of Logan; one daughter, Lori Ann Chris Grupenhof of McArthur; one grandson, Kyle David Grupenhof; one brother, Frank Bighouse; two sisters, Helen Parry of Logan and Eileen Woods of Zaleski and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son; one brother, Phillip Colley; sister, Kathleen Rothaar; nephew David Rothaar; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Herb Norman and brother-in-law Dallas Woods.
Funeral mass will be held 10 A.M., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Zaleski with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. Interment will be in St. Sylvester Catholic Cemetery, Zaleski. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur on Monday, from 6-8 P.M.
