Martha E. Giffin

Martha E. Giffin, 76, of Logan, formerly of The Plains, passed away, Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. She was born March 4, 1931 in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late Harley and Dora Lemon Blackstone. She was the widow of the late Harold Giffin.

She is survived by daughters, Patricia Goett of Columbus, Pamela Everett of Athens and Veronica Sue Kevin Hashman of Athens; sons, Harold Giffin of Chillicothe, Curtis Giffin of Kingman, AZ, William Tracy Giffin of Canton, James Tiffany Giffin of Trimble and Roger Joelle Giffin of Logan; 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Erma Murphy of Nelsonville; three brothers, Jim Rose Blackstone of IN, Jerry Nancy Blackstone of IN and Bob Belle Blackstone of Athens and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard Giffin; sister, Emma Jean Donahue and brother, Harry Blackstone.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Jim Stewart officiating. Interment will be at Dawley Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
