Opal Thompson

Opal Thompson, 82, of McArthur, passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 at her residence. She was born June 10, 1925 in Greenup, Kentucky, daughter of the late Hubert and Bertha Morris. Opal was married to Emmitt ?Mack? Thompson, who survives.

She formerly owned OP?s Place and was a member of Lost and Found Worship Center, McArthur.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Mary Jo Reynolds and Carol Edna Gibbs both of Vandalia; one granddaughter, Pricilla Kim Schmeherm of Ashville; two great grandsons, Josh and Zack Schmeherm of Ashville; five brothers, Robert Morris of South Shore, Kentucky, George Morris of McArthur, Paul Morris of South Shore, Kentucky, Bill Morris of South Shore, Kentucky and Junior Conley of Wheelersburg, Ohio and five sisters, Betty Kay Nagel of South Webster, Bessie Howell of South Shore Kentucky, Pauline Wright of McArthur, Lucille Staten of New Boston, Ohio and Frances Trayler of Portsmouth.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ted Wolfe; one brother, John Morris and one sister, Janet Lumpkins.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Lost and Found Worship Center, McArthur with Pastor Jim Fee officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur on Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.
