Erma Mae Murphy

Erma Mae Murphy, 82, of Nelsonville, passed away, Friday, October 5, 2007. She was born November 28, 1924 in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late Harley and Dora Lemon Blacksten. She was the widow of the late Glen Murphy.

She is survived by daughters, Sandy Pete Burley of Nelsonville and Sharon Neil Allen of Nelsonville; sons, Jesse Pyett of Parkersburg, WV and Charles Sandy Pyett of Nelsonville; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; three brothers, Jim Rose Blacksten of IN, Jerry Nancy Blacksten of IN and Bob Belle Blacksten of Athens and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jess Pyett and second husband, Glen Murphy; infant twins, Janet and Gary; sisters, Emma Jean Donahue and Martha Giffin; infant brother, Johnny and brother, Harry Blacksten.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery New Addition, Nelsonville. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
