Bill R. Mcdonald

Bill R. McDonald, 69, of Nelsonville, passed away, Monday, October 29, 2007 at Mt Carmel East Hospital, Columbus. He was born March 25, 1938 in Athens County, son of Jean Cunningham McDonald of Nelsonville and the late Austin McDonald. He was married to Anita Bishop McDonald of Nelsonville, for 50 years.

Bill retired from Lucent Technologies after 41 years service. He was a member of the Nelsonville Elks Lodge #543, Paramuthia Lodge #25, F & AM, Nelsonville VFW Post 3467 Men?s Auxiliary, Logan Moose Lodge #873 and Nelsonville Eagles Aerie #391. He loved golfing, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid supporter of Nelsonville-York Athletics where he enjoyed feeding the football and wrestling teams for many years.

He is survived by wife, Anita; daughters, Cindy Bob Cagg of Nelsonville and Angie Walt Crihfield of Hot Springs, Arkansas; son, Jeff Bobbie McDonald of Nelsonville; John McCulloch, who made his home with Bill and Anita; grandchildren, Heather Dennis Trowbridge Cagg, Courtney Allan Giffin, Tyler Tricia McDonald, Austin and Mason McDonald; step grandchildren, Walt Crihfield II, Sam Crihfield and Heather Andrews; one great granddaughter, Ryleigh Giffin; brothers, Calvin McDonald, Bob McDonald, John Lois McDonald, and Jim Wilma McDonald all of Nelsonville; sisters, Sis Danny Simms, Marg Dean Pidcock, Anita Jo Warren all of Nelsonville and Judy Jerry Patton of Buchtel.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Audi ?Rick? McDonald and sister-in-law, Wilma Hughes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 2, 2007 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Interment will be at Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Thursday from 1-3 and 5-8 PM at the funeral home where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00 PM and an Elks service will be conducted at 7:30 PM.
