Leland Lavon Conner, 77, of Logan passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 as a result of an auto accident in Fairfield County. He was born May 9, 1930 in Hocking County, son of the late Foster E. and Ida Cullison Conner. Leland is married to Doris Keller Conner, who survives.
He retired as a foreman from Carborundum Grinding Wheel Company and is an Army veteran of the Korean War. Leland was a former Logan City Councilman, is President of the Hocking County Historical Society, a volunteer at the Welcome Center and is Chief of the Continental Confederation of Adopted Indians.
Leland is survived by one son, Gregory L. Conner of Logan; three daughters, Lavonna Sue Randall Keck of Frankfort, Ohio, Kay A. Conner of Logan and Melinda L. Dale Mount of Logan; four grandchildren, Cristy Keck, Carrie Richard Foraker and Seth and Garrett Mount; four great grandchildren, Destiny Parrott, Dalton and Shaneah Foraker and Gabriel Southwick; three brothers, Vernon Conner of Logan, Bill Conner of Georgia and Don Conner of Logan and two sisters, Ruth Conner-Iuler of Columbia, Tennessee and Wilma Simpson of Hopewell, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Erma Tomecko, Fern Hall and Freida Conner and one brother, Dale Conner.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church, 2 W. Hunter St., Logan, Ohio 43138, with Rev. Larry Hoffman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, with military graveside services being conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the church.
