Freddy Eugene ?Gene? Sheline, 74, of Rockbridge, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2007 at his residence. He was born February 11, 1933 in Hocking County, son of the late Jesse and Fanny Coakley Sheline. Gene is the widow of the late Carolyn J. Sheline, who passed away November 23, 2006.

He was a retired Packing Engineer for Goodyear in Logan, an Army Veteran and owner for many years of the All Star Trophy and Awards that served Hocking and surrounding counties. Gene was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame as a basketball standout at Union Furnace.

He is survived by one daughter, Julie Mike Francisco of Carroll; one brother, Bob Sheline of Columbus; two sisters, Mona Miller of Rockbridge and Margie Hutchinson of Logan and several McDaniel relatives, friends and coworkers.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, November 23, 2007 at the Hocking Hills Church of Christ, 11808 Dalton Rd., Logan, OH 43138, with Rev. Rick Bennington officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge with military graveside services being conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 A.M. until the time of the services. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
