Louise Vaughn

July 16, 1914 — November 29, 2007

The spirit of Louise Vaughn passed from the earth on November 29, 2007. Louise was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing. She was born July 16, 1914 at Bishopville, Ohio, daughter of the late William and Gertrude Standley Jewell.

She graduated from Southertons Beauty Academy in 1959. She owned and operated Louise?s Beauty Shop until her retirement in 1979. Louise was a member of the Glouster United Methodist Church, Thea Chapter #192 Eastern Star and the Glouster Project which was second only to her family. She was an avid quilter, maker of rag rugs, word find enthusiast and a lover of Riley?s Childhood Rhymes. Louise enjoyed playing euchre and was a member of a local euchre group for over 30 years.

She is survived by son, J. Gary Sandra Vaughn; daughters, June Gilbert Bingman and Vickie Dennis Davis all of Glouster; eleven grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; a sister, Ida Mae Stoneburner of Mt. Sterling, many nieces and nephews, including Ruth Roberts, Don Gaskin and Paul Scheele; Special friends and cousins, Denise Riley and Alice Ronk, and sisters-in-law, Jean and Geneva Jewell both of Glouster.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin S. Vaughn; brothers, William, Thomas, Ralph, Frank, Lewis, Jack and Darewood Jewell and sisters, Lena Vaughn, Kathryn Champlin and Helen Love.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster, with John Wright officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 5-8 P.M. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. Saturday.
