Lawrence Eddie Spurling

Lawrence Eddie Spurling, 61, of Wilkesville, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at his residence. He was born July 20, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio, son of Wallace Vickers of Dundas and the late Virginia Wine Vickers. Lawrence was married to Karen Steele Spurling, who survives.

He was a former Vinton County Deputy Sheriff and an Army Veteran.

In addition to his father and wife, Lawrence is survived by one son, Thomas Petra Spurling of Radcliff; one daughter, Shannon Secoy of Athens; five grandchildren, Aaron, Brandon, Travis, Jenna Eve and Kayla May; two brothers, Richard A. Spurling of Baldwin, Florida and Gary Vickers of Hamden and three sisters, Carol Sue Vickers of Dundas, Sandy Lynn Vickers of Lockbourne and Emily Cornwell of Dundas.

Lawrence was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Spurling.

Graveside services will be 10 A.M., Saturday, December 15, 2007 in Hamden Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Friday from 4-8 P.M.
