Barbara Jean Bruce

Barbara Jean Bruce, 76, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Grant Hospital in Columbus. She was born February 10, 1931 in Murray City, Ohio, daughter of the late Edward and Florence Campbell Donson. Barbara was the widow of the late William B. Bruce Jr.

She was a retired receptionist at Wayne National Forest Office in Athens and the Center for Early Education in Beverly Hill, California.

She is survived by one son, Billy Donson Bruce of Columbus; one daughter, Brenda Socrates Tuch Bruce of Canal Winchester; two grandchildren, Maya Rose Tuch and Nathan William Tuch; one brother, Fred Donson of Grove City; a dear family friend Brad Ostroff of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Louise Hewitt and Betty Jane Donson.

Graveside services will be held 1 P.M., Sunday, December 23, 2007 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. No calling hour will be observed. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.

Barbara loved making ceramics for her family, so in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wexner Heritage Village Arts and Crafts Center, 1151 College Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43209.
