Joyce E West

Joyce E. West, 59, of Athens, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. She was born March 27, 1948 in Chillicothe, daughter of the late Ralph and Margie Murry Kinney. Joyce was married to Carl L. West, who survives.

She was a retired Treasurer for the Vinton County Schools, was the past President of Southeastern Ohio Treasurers Association and was a member of the Sereno Chapter #128 Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by two sons, Carl West II of Medina and Cory Amanda West of McArthur and one grandson, Brayden West.

Joyce was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laura Elizabeth West.

Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 6-8 P.M. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:30 P.M., Thursday. Following Joyce?s wishes, she will be cremated and graveside services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Memory of Joyce E. West to the American Cancer Society, Ross County Area, 311 ½ West Water St., Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
