Layton W. Pettry

Layton W. Pettry, 64, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born August 22, 1943 in Petersburg, Virginia, son of Virginia Satterwhite Pettry of Gahanna and the late Laton W. Pettry. Layton was married to Carolyn Preston Pettry, who survives.

He retired as a Director of Maintenance of Northland Mall and was a member of Otterbein Chapel.

In addition to his mother and wife, Layton is survived by sons, Heath Lois Pettry of Columbus, Carl Karen Pettry of Reynoldsburg; stepsons, Lee Cathy Lord of Jackson and Timothy Lord of Columbus; daughters, Kim John Eppich of Marengo, Marge Scott Boylen of Columbus, Tara Rob Pettry of Canal Winchester and Heather Tim Waldren of Marengo; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, Mike Pettry of Columbus, Terry Pettry of Pickerington and Tony Brooke Pettry of Kentucky; a sister, Shirley Pettry of Gahanna and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12 noon, Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Mike Elkins officiating. Interment will be in Centenary Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
