Helen L. Turner, 87, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. She was born October 16, 1920 in Hocking County, daughter of the late Harley J. and Grace Kline Paxton. Helen was the widow of the late Chester H. Turner, who passed away January 9, 2000.
She was a member of the Olivedale Senior Center in Lancaster, a graduate from Laurelville High School and enjoyed car cruises, Ohio State Buckeyes, gardening and cooking.
Helen is survived by one son, Dwight Patty Turner of Lancaster; a granddaughter, Marcy Turner of Columbus; several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Doyle Lama and sisters-in-law, Virginia Paxton and Charlotte Paxton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Loren, Don and Wilbur Paxton and sisters, Margaret Maxon and Ruby Lama.
Graveside services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, December 28, 2007, in Elk Cemetery, McArthur with Rev. James Taylor officiating. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur from 10 A.M. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association, in memory of Helen L. Turner, PO Box 163549, Columbus, Ohio 43216-3549.
