Carl O. Triplett, 82, of Nelsonville, passed away, Thursday, January 10, 2008 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1925 in Nelsonville, son of the late Cecil Otis and Mabel Irene Rosser Triplett. He was married to Imogene Runions Triplett for 60 years.
Carl was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Purple Heart and retired from the Ohio University Inn.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Dave Shirley Triplett of Nelsonville; daughter, Gelinda Sorrell of Pickerington; grandchildren, Traci Jason Phillips of Cincinnati, Joseph Drew Andrea Triplett both currently serving in Iraq and Tina Marie Trevor Fisher; a great grandchild, Raegan Phillips; sisters, Mildred Parlette of Alexandria and Norma Charles Powell of Chauncey and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Triplett of Chauncey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Triplett and brothers, Martin and Dale Triplett.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Nelsonville Wesleyan Church, Chestnut St. with Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. In honor of Mr. Triplett’s wishes cremation will take place prior to the services. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
