Gladys L. Horne

Gladys L. Horne, 85, formerly of Nelsonville, passed away, Friday, January 25, 2008 at Heartland-Fairfield Nursing Center, Pleasantville. She was born January 19, 1923 in Greenup, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Timberlake Dodridge. She was the widow of the late Martin Luther Horne.

Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waverly for 17 1/2 years and most recently attended the Oak Grove Wesleyan Church in Nelsonville.

She is survived by her children, James S. Barbara Horne of Chesapeake, Virginia, Dorothy M. Gary Poling of Nelsonville, Martin L. Carol Horne, Jr. of Stockdale, Ronald L. Faith Horne of Beavercreek, Carolyn A. Michael Ringler of Colonial Heights, Virginia and Marilyn A. John Betsa of Westlake; fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Lee Poling; brothers, Kenneth, Clarence and Arnold Dodridge and sisters, Alma, Janet and Katherine Dodridge, Ruth Bashaw, Florence Vanderpool and Avanelle Humphrey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. David Cogar officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Family and friends may call Wednesday, January 30, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
