John M. Sowers Jr.

John M. Sowers Jr., 67, of McArthur, together with his family around him, joined his mother and father in Heaven on January 29, 2008. He left this world from the Hendry Regional Medical Center in Clewiston, Florida. He was born May 2, 1940 in Vinton County, son of the late John M. and Mary Bethel Sowers Sr. John was married to Suzanne Crow Sowers, who survives.

He retired from Ohio Operating Engineers and was a member of the McArthur Fraternal Order of Eagles AERIE #2279.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by two daughters, Mandelyn Sowers and Susette Robinette, both of McArthur; two grandchildren, Nathan and Victoria Robinette; four brothers, Jim Kay Sowers of McArthur, Bob Sowers of Ray, Mike Kathy Sowers of McArthur and Dave Maggie Sowers of McArthur; two sisters, Joyce Lynch of Gahanna and Karen Owings of McArthur; mother and father-in-law, Marie and John Crow of McArthur and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Sowers.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Interment will be in Bell Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home at Friday from 5-8 P.M.
