Mary J. Elliott

Mary J. Elliott, 98, of Nelsonville, passed away, Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville. She was born April 25, 1909 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Thomas and Bridget Perry Donahue. She was the widow of the late Clifford Elliott, who passed away in 1968.

Mary formerly attended the Nelsonville Nazarene Church.

She is survived by a son, Robert Dorothy Elliott of Streetsboro; daughters, Helen K. Richard Standall and JoAnn Matheny both of Nelsonville; 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, a great great great granddaughter and a sister, Margaret Wilson of Obetz.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Tom Elliott; daughters, Rosemary Lawhorn and Bonnie Breeze; a sister, Louise Matheny; brothers, Andy Donahue, Dave Perry and Jim Perry and a great great great grandson, Elijah Saylor.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Ernie Perkins officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
