Charles E. Clark, 76, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville. He was born May 27, 1931 in Connett, Ohio, son of the late Floyd and Goldie Kisor Clark. Charles was married to Nancy Smith Clark of Nelsonville, who survives.
He was retired from the United States Army and was formerly employed by Anchor Hocking and the Athens Messenger.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by three sons, Randy Clark of Lancaster, David Sandy Clark of Glouster and Terry Doris Morgan of Logan; four daughters, Karen Jay Nader of Columbus, Jean Dan Evans of Columbus, Debbie Morgan of Nelsonville and Faith Tris Hanning of Albany; twenty-one grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Betty Clark of Nelsonville; brother-in-law Frank Lautner; three sisters, Maxine Dalton of Nelsonville, Dollie Ben Allen of Nelsonville and Margaret Ann Dee Dishong of Nelsonville and a good friend, Clayton Blackford of Millfield.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Clark and James Morgan; sister, Betty Lautner and an infant brother, Willard Clark.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M., Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Jon Hanning officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Nelsonville, with military graveside services being conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
