Walter Eugene Ringhiser

November 11, 1944 — February 13, 2008

Walter ""Gene"" Eugene Ringhiser, 63, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at his residence due to an extended illness. He was born November 11, 1944, son of the late Everett and Gertrude Ringhiser. Gene was married to Debbie Burchfield Ringhiser, who survives.

He was a retired foreman for Miller Pipeline and a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. Gene was also a member of the Logan Eagles Post #2168 and a former member of the Logan Amvets Post #1776.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Rene'e Shawn Short of Lancaster; son, James Betty Ringhiser of Logan; godson, James Lutz of Logan;; grandchildren, Corey and Cody Ringhiser, Shayne Bunthoff, Cayden Short and his unborn first granddaughter, Cruz Short; sister, MargieStan Wilson of Logan and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Ringhiser; sisters, Eva Mae Stevens and Cheryl Griffin and a brother, David Ringhiser.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Pastor Jason Everidge officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, with military graveside services being conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
