Leona Jane Palmer

March 9, 1914 — February 14, 2008

Leona Jane Woltz Palmer, 93, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 14, 2008 and arrived at her new home never to say again ""Where am I or why am I here?"". She was born March 9, 1914 in Vinton Co. daughter of the late Eli and Goldie Stuck Woltz. She was the widow of Roy Edgar Palmer.

Leona was a cook at Allensville Schools for twelve years and was a member of Allensville Church of Christ in Christian Union.

She is survived by one step-son, Roy Effie Palmer Jr. of McArthur; step-daughters, Edna Mae Bledsoe of Londonderry and Coralee Bryant of West Jefferson; grandchildren, Jeff Bryant, Wanda Howcraft, Janice Kay, Debbie Reynolds, Bruce Bledsoe, Joyce Ward, Sandy Arnold, Bradley Palmer, Sharon Dailey, Jackie Call, and April Braithwaite; step-grandchildren, Gary, Keith, and Kim Fee and Rita Ward; great-grandchildren, Shelly Vititoe, Jamie Crawford, Gabriel Ward, Jesse Reynolds, Jaclyn Thompson, Aaron Bledsoe, Nicholas Palmer, Zach Reynolds, Jeremy Bledsoe, Scott Kay, Jessica and Megan Dailey, Danielle, Kelly and Jill Bryant, Amanda and Evan Arnold, Heather and Joshua Braithwaite, Ellie and Caleb Call; great-great grandchildren, Emily and Hayden Reynolds, Cheyenne and Bowen Ward, Makayla and Logan Crawford; two sisters, Evelyn Brummitt and Florence Barney; sister-in-law, Lizzie Woltz; several nieces and nephews; a host of church friends, neighbors, and caregivers at Twin Maples and O'Bleness Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her step-sons, Ray Palmer and Gene Fee; sons-in-law, Thomas Bledsoe and Ronnie Bryant; daughter-in-law, Alice Palmer; brothers, Clarence, Emmitt, and Harley Woltz; sisters, Nancy Kuhn, Dana Seymour, Zelphia Harper, Lydia Burkheimer; infant sister, Ethel.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the Allensville Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Johnny Thacker officiating. Interment will be in Bobblett Cemetery, Harrison Township, Vinton County, Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 12:30 until time of service. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
