Omer Colvin Seitz

Omer Colvin Seitz, 81, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born February 2, 1927, in Vinton County, son of the late Omer Franklin Seitz and Evelyn Fay Scott Seitz Dutcher. Omer was married to Alyce Waldron Seitz on July 8, 1950, who survives. They have been married for 57 years.

He retired from the Chillicothe State Highway Patrol Post, was a WWII Army Veteran and was in the Timber Business. Omer worked at the State Highway Department where he was a timekeeper, was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #303 in McArthur and was a Captain for the Vinton County State Highway Patrol Auxiliary for 25 years.

He is survived by two sons, Steven Tonette Seitz and Alan Kim Seitz both of McArthur; two daughters, Kathryn Cecil and Pam Jim Satory both of McArthur; six grandchildren, Julia Scott Bowser of Troy, Ohio, Ashley Cecil of McArthur, Scott Murray of McArthur, Ryan Seitz of McArthur and Adam and Chloe Seitz of McArthur and one brother, Carl Shirley Dutcher of Wellston.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery with military graveside services being conducted by the Vinton County VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4-8 P.M.
