Ruth E. Smith

Ruth E. Smith 88 of Logan passed away March 14, 2008 in Logan Health Care Center. She was born March 15, 1919 in Glenford, Ohio daughter of the late Luther Loy and Bessie Hanby Ice. She was the widow of the late Homer R. Smith.

Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Logan.

She is survived by sons David R. Carolyn Smith of Oakton, Virginia, Craig W. Ishaline Smith of Roswell, Georgia, and James L. Smith of New Straitsville. One daughter Linda L. Steven Schnittke of New Lexington, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a sister Doris Ice of Pemberville, Ohio.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, and 3 sisters Josephine Ice, Margaret Dorsey, and Rachel Hubbard.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday in St. Matthew Lutheran Church 258 E. Hunter St. Logan with Rev. Justin Van Orman officiating. Interment will be in Knollwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home 183 E. Second St. Logan, on Tuesday from 5to 7PM, and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the services.
