Betty Mae Brooks, 68, of Zaleski, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 at Twin Maples Nursing Home in McArthur. She was born July 25, 1939, in Vinton County, daughter of the late Clarence and Garnetta Sizemore Malone. Betty was married to James E. Brooks, who survives.

She retired from Goodyear in Logan after 32 years of service, was the President of Zaleski Senior Citizens and President of the Board of Vinton County Senior Citizens. Betty was a member and secretary of Chapter 64 Southern Ohio Sams ""Camping Club"".

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Kenneth Nora Brooks of Zaleski; two daughters, Sharon Lynn Dennis Webb of Zaleski and Sheila Wayne Tinker of Zaleski; four grandchildren, James Alan Walters, Alisha Tinker, Shiann Webb and Brady Tinker; one great grandchild, Alexander ""Xander"" Walters; seven brothers, Roger Malone of Hamden, Gene Malone of Radcliff, Ancel Malone of Radcliff, Leroy Malone of Wilkesville, Bill Malone of Radcliff and Ronald and Donald Malone both of Jackson and three sisters, Maggie Perkins of Radcliff, Shirley Mullins of Jackson and Violet Smathers of Jackson.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Clarence Malone.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Richard Thomas and Pastor Dave Peoples officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Zaleski. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 4-8 P.M.
