Lonnie S. Nelson

Lonnie S. Nelson, 71, of Crooksville, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at Genesis –Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born March 20, 1937, in Nelsonville, son of the late Harrison and Bertha Stover Nelson. Lonnie was married to Linda D. Sexton Nelson, who survives.

He was a diesel truck mechanic at Dunn Trucking in Roseville.

In addition to his wife, Lonnie is survived by sons, Roger Green of Logan, Lonnie Nelson Jr. of McArthur, Robert Nelson of Logan, Wyatt Nelson of New Straitsville, James Nelson of Illinois and Gary Nelson of Logan; daughters, Debbie Nelson of Logan, Mary Nelson of Logan, Angela Nelson of McConnelsville and Loretta Nelson of Logan; stepsons, Jason Dorothy Russell of Thornville, Corey Russell of Crooksville, Wesley Christine Russell of Columbus and Ryan Dunwoody of Thornville; numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren; brothers, Jack Evelyn Nelson of Clinton and Harry Nelson of Barberton and sisters, Jean Hyde of Canal Fulton, Edra Marie Carl Nelson of Logan, Marilyn Young of Barberton, Linda Ray Simon of Massillon, Judy Hardin of Barberton and Marlene Cinalt of Barberton.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Harrison Nelson Jr. and Wayne Nelson and sister, Sylvia Nelson.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Friday, May 9, 2008, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12 noon, until the time of the service.
