Ida May Deweese

Ida May DeWeese, 86, of The Plains, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains. She was born October 2, 1921, in Fostoria, Ohio, daughter of the late William and Lenore House Jordan. Ida was the widow of the late Charles Foster DeWeese who passed away in 1982.

She was a housekeeper for Ohio University and a member of the Eastern Star. Ida was a foster grandparent for Athens Department of Human Services and was known as mom and granny to everybody. She was a friend to all.

Ida is survived by two sons, Thomas and Richard Fincher, both of The Plains, two daughters, Pat Harry Walker of Stark, Florida and Frances Fiancé, Alvin Williams Reed of The Plains; daughter-in-law, Dee Fincher of Marengo, Ohio; twenty six grandchildren; eighty-two great grandchildren; seventeen great great grandchildren and three sisters, Joyce Martin of Columbus, Marlene Don Zolar of Fostoria and Eleanore Burrows of Bowling Green.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ida was preceded in death by sons, Raymond ""Butch"", Larry and Billy Fincher; brothers, Edward, Chester, Charles, Ronnie and Buddy; sisters, Judy, Jeanette and Donna and great grandsons, Shawn Paul Davis and Raymond Richard Kuntz.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Frank Hare officiating. At her request cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 12 noon, until the time of the service.
