Hazel M. Boring Smith, 83, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born July 12, 1924, in West Virginia, daughter of the late Edward James and Sarah Alice Lafferty Robison. Hazel was the widow of the late Leonard Smith.
She formerly owned and operated a child day care center and attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Creola.
Hazel is survived by two sons, William C. Vicki Boring of McArthur and James Edward Cheryl Boring of Nampa, Idaho; two daughters, Sandra C. Garry Boring Gilliland of McArthur and Cindra Ellen Boring of Greenback, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren and four brothers, Paul, Robert, Russell and Bill Robison.
In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl, Ray and Earl Robison.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with James P. Salyer officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5-8 P.M.
